I am sorry to report that Robert Prizeman died on 8th September.

For many years he was music adviser to the BBC's Songs of Praise and for a very long time organist & choirmaster of St. Phillip's, Norbury, where his choir 'Libera' seemed to be based.

For two years Robert studied organ, piano and harpsichord at the Royal College of Music.

He was 69 years of age.

Sorry to hear this. When we lived in Selsdon, I think he held a position in Coulsdon, as I subbed at another Coulsdon church a couple of times.  Didnt he compose the original theme tune for 'Songs of Praise', which has since been abominated by the BBC.

Apparently he became choirmaster of St Philip’s Norbury at the age of 18.
