I'm getting nowhere with the decluttering.  Needs a new plan. I'm bogged down making flower girl dresses for daughter's wedding.  They need to be nearly finished (ie only hem and some trimming left by 30th Oct when they are to be tried on said girlies).

New plan is think of a number:  5 (for example) and by the end of the day, I must have cleared 5 items from a particular room. Of course, it'll be easy to start with, but then get harder as time goes by. However, I'll be nearer getting the dresses finished so I should be able to spend more time decluttering.

I'm too old for this "prioritising" lark!

5 boxes of electronic clutter to go to Currys tomorrow. (Unrelated to above post! It's just the number of boxes I have)

Hedgehog - Could you set up a 'rule' whereby if an item hasn't been used in n months it has to justify its existence or go? Don't try that on the Christmas decorations though...

That's a genius idea! I am putting it into practice starting from today.

It has to leave the premises to count though - no churning! :)

I've just taken another car load to the charity shop and have a growing pile for the tip (we can't just drop in, you have to book and you can only book one slot a week -  even if you cancel it you have to wait a week for another slot). It feels so good!

 Hurrah for tip and charity shop trips!  I have 2 people coming in the next couple of days who are going to take history and local history books (really not my thing). And a WW2 gas mask. I won't ask him what he wants that for!

My excuse is that most of my clutter has to go to the garage until I have enough for it to be worth getting a lorry to take the lot to the tip. I can't do that until a hole in the garage roof is mended and so far no takers for the work!

Hmm. No decluttering has magically started yet. The best I managed was too mop the floor and put the Boy's boots on the shoe rack!

I managed to offload an electric omelette maker that I don't use by putting on the local freebie website.   Feels good!

The 'post your clothes' bag from Oxfam finally arrived this week. Between that, Freegle, and another charity shop trip, the 'clothes/furniture to go' pile is pretty much gone.
