There's no such thing as an "ABRSM teacher". Anyone can enter students for ABRSM exams, or you can enter yourself.

Try contacting a local US representative:

https://us.abrsm.org...representative/

As Hildegard says, there are not ABRSM teachers as such, but it's always helpful if a teacher is familiar with a particular exam system. Otherwise any competent teacher and you just need to familiarise yourselves thoroughly with the exam regulations and syllabus. Not rocket science.

There are loads of resources referenced on the abrsm.org site and videos of real exams. There are also plenty of free video turorials on YT eg for aural practice. You don't have to spend a fortune on extra materials.

Most active teachers here are UK, Europe or Asia based, with (I think) only a few in the U.S. So you're unlikely to find someone in your particular area on this forum. However, as Hildegard said, anyone can enter students for ABRSM exams. You (or any teacher) just need to register as an applicant. You can find the syllabus requirements on the website - look under 'our exams'. Just bear in mind that the exam syllabus is not the same as a learning syllabus so, for example, if you're starting from scratch, you wouldn't start with the grade 1 requirements - you need to cover a lot of basics first.

Any good teacher (whether they use ABRSM or another board or don't put students in for exams) should help you learn the skills that a lot of the exam boards test in their exams, including ABRSM.

Good luck in finding someone!
