To Norway: You could always develop an unavoidable appointment at this time "Ooh, sorry, I have to have some physiotherapy on my thumb. Only slot that the physio has etc!"

@ Hedgehog: That would be doing what she does - double booking herself after the lesson time has been fixed, and then wanting to change the lesson instead of choosing a different time for the extra trivial thing (we aren't talking hospital appointments here). I'm not her flippin mummy!

@ Cyrilla. Agree - time to stop enabling the behaviours!

Do you have T&Cs that cover unacceptable behaviour? If so, you could issue a couple of warnings and then terminate the lessons.

I do - I think a few reminders are needed! She's a nice enough person and is very polite in many ways, but strangely clueless in others. Skype lessons don't help - the distractions were few when she came to me for lessons, but for various reasons she can't do that at the moment. I do think standards have slipped due to Covid restrictions and so on (probably for most of us!) - I didn't go as far as wearing my nightie and slippers to Asdas though!

Does anyone else very weirdly and illogically reapply deodorant before teaching a Skype lesson?

ISM Clause 8 is very useful to have.

What is this? I looked it up - it said don't discriminate - I'm not too bigotted (hopefully). I'm probably reading the wrong bit???

Clause 8 reads: "If the Teacher, in his or her reasonable opinion, feels unable to continue tuition on account of unreasonable conduct by the Pupil or anyone connected with the Pupil, the fees for any outstanding lessons will not be refundable."

Oh thanks! :) I wonder if my pupil reads this forum - she was like a different person this week. Long may it last. :fingersCrossed:
