Good luck ejw21. I am sure you will do very well.

Thanks! The exam flew by! Examiner was nice though I was a bit more nervous than I thought I might be! Brains are weird - I can perform in front of a roomful of people pretty well, but one person on their own who is 'an examiner'?!? 3 pieces went between OK and rather well (definitely got into my stride by the 3rd piece) but the last piece less so, 2 (separate) bars completely went awry. I went for the easiest/best/then the rest/most difficult order of pieces - used to write essay based exams in this order back in the day - and I think it worked. Apparently anything from 2 days to 2 weeks for the results.

Yesterday in way of light relief my ukulele club were busking Christmas songs in our local supermarket. Raised almost £250 for charity :)

Sounds like a successful couple of days of music-making. Fingers crossed that you get the result you want :)

Got my grade 8 flute results today... 120, so exactly a merit!!

Feeling stunned, especially as I thought my A piece was awful and actually got a good mark for it. My aural and scales weren’t great as expected, but great marks for my pieces which is all I care about. I enjoy playing music not scales (I know they’re important and have a purpose, just don’t enjoy them at all!)!

Feeling rather proud of myself though!

Excellent news, well done!

I decided to take my flute back up after a 35 year absence in September (I had previously passed Grade 5 back in 1984 but then stopped as couldn't get anyone to help me through the dreaded grade 5 theory).    I took Grade 1 a couple of weeks ago to get back into the swing of things and got my result of 141 yesterday.    I can't help feeling slightly disappointed though as I was hoping to match or beat my tutor's previous best grade 1 score of 144 but now I'm being told it's very hard to get over the 140 mark.   Conflicted   !!!

But, onwards to grade 3 now as I like the pieces!

(I got the dreaded grade 5 theory out of the way in 2000 so I can simply progress through now.. hooray!!)

Well done shellief1 and gemmasue, excellent news! I have just checked the LCM online system which is showing up 85... According to the specification that is a distinction. Am sat here in a bit of disbelief!!  Hopefully the full report will be in the post asap.

Very well done! I had a bit of a look into the Leisure Play syllabus. I'm probably closer to around grade 5/6 level, but there's some absolutely great pieces on the LCM syllabus! Are you planning on doing grade 8 with them?

Well done - that's a great result. See if you can beat your tutor's top grade 3 score instead :D

Lots of great results on here, congratulations to everyone. And results coming in much quicker too.

She's not allowing me to put this on Facebook, but I can tell my friends on here. Baby Splog has managed to get a distinction in her Grade 8 Flute exam which she took last week. 134 with full marks in the study. One delighted mummy here.
