I'm prepping for DipAbrsm. I'm aiming for a distinction, but I am quite worried about my viva voce part.

What are you prepping for next?

Anything in particular you're worried about?

He viva voce was long - she wound up talking much longer than 12-13 mins! It turned out to be over 20 minutes. She says it was more like a chat. She found that asking lots of people to read her programme notes then ask her questions based on them was great preparation.
Don’t know the results yet.

I can tell you what my daughter was asked, if you like.
I think that would be helpful for everyone!

Programme : Binge concerto, Pierné canzonetta, Woods Sonata (mvt1 and 2), Cheese Cake (Gordon)
How she came up with the programme
Form of Binge concerto
Modulations and form of canzonetta
Slap tonguing technique plus how it’s written on music.
Alternative fingerings and demonstrate them. Discussed tone colour.
What is a crossover piece?
Who was Sigurd Rascher?
Dexter Gordon what was special about his vibrato?
What she would like to add...
That’s what she remembers chatting about though she knows she talked about other things, she can’t remember the questions. She found it rather fun!
