Re the peas, I simply bought what they had at the time - which was, I seem to remember, Batchelor’s ‘bigga’ dried peas. Soak them for 24 - 48 hours, changing the water a couple of times, then plant them in whatever you have handy. I used ordinary potting compost and  egg boxes - you don’t need much depth of compost as you’ll be harvesting before they grow and need more.

I have cut the grass. It was knee high and wet for weeks and my poor little dog was refusing to enter the jungle. As I hadn't used th mower for so long I thought it wouldn't start. But it did!! I nearly got off to give it a hug!
