For any near beginners, Carol Barratt's 'A Feast of Easy Carols' might be good. I found it just after taking up the piano again about 3 years ago - I was barely back to G1 stage then - and really enjoyed playing them. There is also 'A Second Feast of Easy Carols'. I got them both cheaply 2nd hand, via Internet. They each have 20 mostly very well known carols, with nice big print and helpful fingering.

Thanks for the link, dorfmouse, this is great to give to students who would like some pepped up Christmas music.

I bought the Nikki Iles' Christmas Jazz book a few years back on a recommendation posted here and I still really love it. http://www.nikkiiles...uk/buymusic.htm

Careful about choosing from these, though, if you are wanting tunes sung in Britain - both It Came Upon the Midnight Clear and Away in a Manger are the American tunes. Always something you need to check when buying carol material - the other one to watch is O Little Town of Bethlehem

I would love a good piano solo of "O Holy Night" if anyone knows of one. Thanks.

Found it on Score Exchange. not free, but doesn't cost much. I haven't played it. There are others on Score Exchange, but I think you need the running accompaniment, which at least one other arrangement doesn't have.

There is probably something on one of the Digital download sites as well.
