Just watched a rather strange DVD of "Trial by jury " with Frankie Howerd as the Judge, given to me by sister in law. It dates back to 1982 and has the Overture di ballo at the beginning with extra scenes set before the trial. It's got "Cox and Box" on it too , but I'll save that for another night.

Well no-one took any notice of my musical hints, so I think I will have to present myself with a Kunath Clarineau for my up and coming birthday.
(Now, who knows what that is without looking it up?!)

it's taken ten years for me to get a treble. as  said i didn't realise my mum bought it as i just mentioned a treble as a passing comment.

that and my descant only comes out at christmas

Also, i can't really afford to spend money on recorders (I am only a student after all)

Well in my case just one. Stephen Houghs (as a composer) Enigmatic Piano album. As I've said before he was born in this town.

I see he has just been awarded a CBE.

Finally, a music theory book in German - since I struggle with the German terms because all I did was learn in English. :whistling: And my sister knit me another pair of gloves with free fingers so that I have warm hands while playing the flute.

I myself treated me with a flute on the stand cover and some piano music books.

My friend bought me a flute book of pop songs

I went through a few in my lesson today, mainly to practise syncopation, but I never realised that playing pop tunes would be so difficult!

I got a little box of chocolate pianos, which my gorgeous mam has bought for me every Christmas since I was about 12  also some Sanderson's mixture-voice has taken a total battering lately!

For the first year in a long time I don't think I hinted at anything musical but was genuinely surprised to get tickets to see Imelda May and band at the Picturedrome in Holmfirth.

It was a fantastic night out with a decent mix of songs I know and love and new ones that I equally enjoyed.
