I'm a big fan - they are so pleasingly dependable. The maths is beautiful.

My favourites are anything in 3rds on the piano, and r pentatonic in Kodaly.

Ah, I love the re pentatonic too, Judith - and I adore singing all the modal scales as well...

clarinet scales : B major's nice. Chromatic scales of any length sound good to me as well.... biggrin.gif

I'm afraid I don't share your enthusiasm about scales sad.gif They frustrate me to no end (in fact no, the fact that I have an odd number of fingers frustrates me to no end) and...I just don't get on with them sad.gif

Not overly keen on scales, but I like F sharp minor on the flute.
