this random photo is on my facebook account where it is set to only be visible to me.

I think it is visible here but not there (perhaps one of my FB friends could check) and if I have done it right, you can't see anything else from my FB profile unless you are a FB friend.

I can't see it on Facebook.

I've been experimenting with a photo upload site, Photobucket. I can upload to that, and use it as a picture source like this

I will continue to experiment. I could upload photo to facebook, then copy to here, but then my facebook friends would wonder what's with the shoe picture....

Never yet been defeated by a computer.... :muahaha:

I have - many times!

Sorry to hear that. I used to program the little ***s many years ago, so it is a matter of pride.

Thanks Katyjay, I went down the facebook route and posted privately.... Let's hope none of my friends asks my why I posted a photo of a stiletto-heeled hiking boot.

Will stop posting photos now and go to bed.

Please can someone enlighten me?  I used to get notifications of someone "liking" a post, and now I don't.  What's happened?  (Note: there are still some "likes", so that isn't the cause!)

There is no liking any more.  We have the green-arrow up vote button - that has replaced the like function.

Oh!  I guess I should have kept a closer eye on this thread, and then I would know what was going on!

Thanks, Maizie. :)

Until yesterday this site used to load the proper website when my phone (Android, dolphin browser) was in desktop mode. Now it refuses, regardless, and when I click " show full version" I still get the mobile site, it just endlessly reloads. I'm not too fused on the format, bit the mobile version lacks a "show new posts" button (or if it's there it won't work!) so it's basically unusable to me now. I've cleared the cache and stuff, no dice, it loads nothing but mobile version. Please can I have my desktop site back? Can it at least load desktop for all with a pop-up asking if you want mobile or not? The mobile site lacks all the features I need.

Your web browser should have an option to Request Desktop Site. Mine does - I have an Android phone and use either the default internet browser  (but don't know what name that is) or Chrome, and both appear to have this, I can do it on various sites not just this one.

For new posts in the mobile version, you click the small picture of a slice of battenburg in the top right corner.

I will look further, and admittedly I've had the 'chucked out the forum' blues, but my initial feelings about the new style forum are, I'm afraid, very disappointing. Sorry :(

Will go into detail later....

Apart from the log in thing I don't find it significantly different.

Yes it seems to be working almost the same as before.

Gosh, where do we start?

The log in thing is irritating, the home screen is too busy looking, the avatars by all the posts, with no option to turn them off (NOT impressed), updating my profile is not nearly as easy or straightforward as before...
