Avoid harpsichord- went to top class player concert recently and found it tinny, boring and insubstantial. Husband hated it. Kept thinking, the chap would sound so good on a piano.

Marry: my flute and my violin but I must also admit to an affair with my oboe
Avoid: um erm playing lots of 4th finger on the violin at the moment! Note to self whilst playing hide and seek with the kids it is not a bright idea to fall up the stairs!!
