Managed quite well at orchestra rehearsal.

This was only my second time at this orchestra and though I hoped to be able to play with them for experience the principal clarinet doesn't think that is a good idea. I have been accepted as clarinet dep. and will go to rehearsals even when not needed so that I can learn what's what. Tonight one of the clarinettists wasn't there so I got to play.

Happy playing Norway - though I was, for some reason or another, convinced it was purple! However I remember a teacher at my college of education telling us about the colours children choose for their paintings. "Yellow" she said "Is a happy colour!" So happy sunshine, happy buttercups and so on - and happy trombone!

Dare I ask what purple meant?

Happy Trombone is going to be very popular with my pupils - there are going to be some laughs this week! :) :trombone:

Turned up at the office this morning :)  Colleagues know what is going on health-wise at the moment, so I don't think they were expecting to see me - never mind see someone who is perfectly fine.  I should apparently be tucked up somewhere either feeling terribly rough or lamenting my awful fate.

Lovely to see everybody; also seems they've really liked seeing that I'm still me and while we might be having a stressful few weeks, things are carrying on much as they usually do for the time being.

Of course, the real reason I persuaded myself to come to the office was that my work laptop won't allow me in to the training system; and there is a mandatory training course to complete by the end of the month; and if I don't complete it in time, my bonus next year will be dinged.  Without that, I might have persuaded myself that coming all the way over here was too much like hard work!  But I'm here, we're all happy, and the helpdesk man is mostly done with building me a new laptop which will let me in to the training :D

Had a community day at the NT property at Attingham Park - I've taken a number of groups there. 15 today - wielding splitting axes and creating logs. As you swing the ax e, you imagine various members of management in front of you... :muahaha:

Very good Maizie, and BP.

Sounds just like what I need TV - not for the management (though we're moving in that direction) but for Persons At Church.

Oh, TV, I could CERTAINLY swing the axe in one person's direction in particular at the moment - what a deliciously wicked but lovely thought!!

This is a somewhat belated happy from the weekend.

About six weeks ago I posted in the scream thread about a chamber music rehearsal in which the person running it was appallingly rude to everyone. I sent an e-mail to my teacher telling him about it, and saying I needed reassurance that I could actually play because it was just before my oboe exam; he asked permission to forward my e-mail to the overall person in charge, one thing lead to another and we eventually got our original "person in charge of rehearsals" back. On Saturday we played in a concert with some other chamber music groups and afterwards lots of people said how much they enjoyed our playing   :)
