Hey everybody :-)

One of the most effective ways to study jazz is through aural learning and transcription. I've started a new series on the SaxTeacher UK website which features solo transcriptions of great jazz solos, aimed at people who are more comfortable reading music. The first solo I'd recommend starting with is Lester Young's famous 'Way Down Yonder in New Orleans.' Here is a link to the transcription download, tutorial and follow along video on YouTube. Hope this is helpful!

Hey everyone! Here is another  free transcription, bit more challenging than the previous. It's Lester Young's solo on 'Shoeshine Boy'

Hey everyone! After a break I'm baaaaack! As promised starting the next in the transcription series after Lester Young. This time, I'm focusing on Ben Webster, starting with his soulful, sweet and driving solo on Bye Bye Blackbird from the album 'Ben Webster Meets Oscar Peterson;

As always the transcription is available for PDF download written for Tenor Saxophone and also transposed for Alto. There's also a tutorial on how to practise the unique elements of the solo. Here's the link;

The audio file with the score to follow-along is here;
