If any of you have read RoseRodent's thread in the Teachers' Forum, you'll know I've decided to take up the task of collating old Syllabus information (for violin) - ie the pieces listed for each grade, to create a reference.

Hopefully this is allowed!

So if anyone has any old syllabus info (pre 2008) I could add that in to my spreadsheet, if you'd like.

How old do you want to go? I have syllabi for violin Grades 4 and 5 from 1975-6 and 1987-8; also Grade 6 for 1977-8.

Somewhere I have violin grades 1 to 7 from around 1978-1982 but will have to hunt for them.

In the meantime I can offer the following if any are of use:-

ABRSM
Grades 1-3 & 5-7 from 2005/2007
Grade 7 from 2001-2004

TG
Grades 6-8 from 2004-2009

I'm happy to add whatever people have got. I see the question come up so often, I'm sure it would be helpful, whatever age the syllabus is.

I've added 2012, I'm currently part way through 2008-2011. But other than that I just have a couple of screen grabs/jpgs of odd grades from previous years that I've found off the net.

Edit - TG, LCM - whatever, I've added a field for exam board.

Our computer is quite glitchy just now and we sometimes lose our internet connection, so I will post these one by one as I get time.

Grade IV, 1975 - 1976

LIST A
1 Arcangelo Corelli: Allemanda (2nd movement) from Sonata in F, Op 5, No 10
2 Handel: Sonata in E minor, Op 5, No 3 (Rondeau)
3 Stephen Dodgson: Swifts

LIST B
1 Vivaldi: Preludio from Sonata in G minor, Op 2, No1
2 Schubert: Ballet Music from Rosamunde, Op 26
3 Timothy Baxter: Waltz Interlude

(No List C back then!)

Alternatives:
Beethoven: Minuet in G, No 2 (from a Fourth Book of Classical and Romantic Pieces)
Murray and Brown: No 3 from Twelve Pieces, Book 1 (OUP)

I have just found a page in the book listing all of the set pieces from all the other grades (except grade 8). A lot of typing! If you PM me your email address, I could try scanning it if you like.
