Aquarelle: I don't at all disagree with what you say - as I said, I wasn't particularly condoning any potential decision to disband the forum, and I very much hope that it doesn't happen. I've had loads and loads of help, both directly in answer to questions I have posted, and from looking at questions/answers/comments posted by others, and I'm grateful both to the contributors and to the people who enable the forum. I also think it's nice that there is space for general chat as well, and I take your point about the staff room. I can still see it from what might be the ABRSM's point of view though.
Just a thought: there are several people who post in various parts of this forum who are not anonymous - mainly music teachers who have websites, maybe others too. Perhaps some kind person would be willing to say that, if this forum is terminated, and if anyone is able to set up an alternative, maybe the kind person could post its location on their website so others could find the new one. No need then for any kind of global exchanges of email addresses or whatever in advance. I would offer to do it myself but since I retired I no longer maintain a website.
