We sang for the first time this morning but behind masks as the Methodist Church seems very cautious. But it was good!

I am playing organ at West Kirby Meths next week, and they will for the first time sing with masks.  'Come now is the time to Worship' 'All I once held dear' ' Be Thou My Vision'  They are normally quite lusty singers, but attendance has gone down from 80 or so to around 50.

A post I made on the argh thread, 25th June

Petty arrrggghhh...doing an assingment wiht a word limit of 2000 words, I've just done my first draft and I have...1026 words.

There's concise, and there's concise.  It means I'm almost certainly missing something, but the fact I can't figure out what that might even be is more than a little argsome (I mean, I can think of filler to chuck in there, but it's absolutely just going to be filler.  Stuff that, if I were marking, I'd say was just chucking in the kitchen sink for the sake of it, not including just the Things That Really Matter).

Well, it's come back.  I specifically asked for feedback on the brevity and whether it was too bullet pointy sounding.  The response was that the tone was absolutely fine, and that being concise was a rare and valuable commodity!  Assignment was missing a few minor things, but on the whole pretty alright.  Not too much modification needed to my final assignment which I drafted in the intervening time (I got that one much closer to the word limit :D)

We do go outside to sing an extra hymn unaccompanied and maskless . The local Anglican Church is singing without masks as is the choir I play for.

My chorus is rehearsing outside and socially distanced until at least September. We have two hospital doctors in the chorus, who are watching the rise in cases and hospitalisations with, shall we say, dismay. If they don't want us back inside then we're happy to comply. We don't want to do anything that's risky while cases are going up.

Daughters C of E church (she is a part time Curate)  sings last hymn outside, followed by Benediction and dismissal (unless its raining)

It has taken 10 years 4 months and 5 days but I have finally reached 1000 posts with this post :yay: :D

I had a rare sunday off from work today, so I decided to go to my local park which has a bandstand and listen to the gig of a local concert band (that I have played with but haven't heard for a while) Live music is awesome!

Going out to local open garden event and playing with our little  community band. So lovely to be able to be back doing that.

I got to go to the RHS show at Tatton. Good to get to something, shame that understandably there were far fewer exhibitors than usual.

Polish plumber: Your kitchen is very old.

Me: Yes - it was here in the 1980s when we moved in. But it does the job - it's fine.

Plumber: You are delusional.

I spent my childhood lightweight camping. The kitchen is luxurious!

Posh neighbour (who cleans his windows every week): You want to do some cleaning round here gal.

But I just had cos he was coming round - that was the after, not the before!

Every week??? It's more like every year with me. Does your posh neighbour clean his windows himself? Surely not.

Yep - either he does it or his wife does - they are always cleaning something. I'm too busy living my best life and at least trying to be amazing for that lark!

It saves water if you wait for it to rain. Save the planet and all that.
