A 4-0 defeat for Reading at Huddersfield - worrying times for us...

Much better news for Orient, as they bounced back from the Harrogate defeat in midweek to end Bradford's unbeaten start to the season.

A late goal from Newport denied Orient all 3 points. Still in the top 7 though.

Last minute goal gave Tranmere a win against Hartlepool.  So its W2 D2 L2 now after 6 games.  Was hoping for better really.

Just a point behind us now!

There were plenty of big scorelines today in the lower leagues - the National League had three 4-3 scorelines, plus there was a 9-0 for Chorley in the NL North. There was an 8-0 win in the Scottish Lowland League for Gala Fairydean, a 4-4 in the university derby between Edinburgh and Stirling which could've been more as there were no goals in the last 30 minutes! Then in the Welsh Cup, poor Brymbo were thrashed 17-1 by Bala Town...

Lewes fell at the first hurdle in the FA Cup, losing to the Metropolitan Police, but Walthamstow (formerly known as Leyton Pennant) are in the second qualifying round for the second season in a row.

Reading were on for a good win against high flying QPR, but conceded in the 91st minute, which puts us 3rd from bottom. There have been 26 goals in games involving Reading so far, more than any other side. But despite being in the top 7 for goals scored, we've conceded more goals than anyone else. So we can sort our defence out, we might be OK...

Orient comfortably beat bottom side Oldham to move up to 3rd.

An important win for Reading tonight against Peterborough.

Both Tranmere and Orient won against their U21 opponents in what I'm now calling the Pizza Trophy.

It's getting to be even more depressing to be a Derby fan. The club has announced it will go into administration, which entails an automatic points deduction. On the pitch however there are signs of improvement.

I guess Tranmere are happy with a 0 - 0 draw at League front runners Forest Green Rovers, but they drop from 11th to 13th in the League. Strange that after 9 games (W3 D3 L3) they have only scored 4 goals and conceded only 3  -  in 9 matches !!

You helped us out there as Orient also drew 0-0 with Mansfield. None of the teams in the top 6 at the start of the day won today.

Reading achieved a third straight win, beating Boro to climb up to 9th. But a dark cloud is hanging above as we are facing a potential 9 point deduction for breaching EFL financial rules.
