I have set out on a path to learn Jazz Piano and also get myself certified on the way. So I wish to take the ABRSM exams that I see are around for quite some years now.

But the question is, why only up to Grade 5?? Why aren't the higher grades still a part of the programme?

Are they like "brewing"? Is there a definite timeline by which I can expect the higher grades to be available in Jazz Piano, AND, in India?

Thanks in advance for all the help!

I could well be wrong here but I suspect the number of entrants may render it uneconomic for ABRSM to develop a syllabus for higher grades. I had a jazz entrant who had to be moved to another centre due to lack of entrants, and a colleague whose jazz students are sent to a more distant centre than usual.

LCM do jazz higher grades-could be worth exploring.

It's good to see some action on here, though, TheMuso!

Yes, to LCM. Up to Diploma level, I think. Not sure about India though, OP. I've mailed the Chief Exams Officer before now, and he's been very helpful.
