Opened a 25 year old can of white undercoat and gave it a stir - as good as new! :) Waste not want not!

About to teach jam making to the only one of my pupils who hasn't done it yet. They love my retro imperial scales and adding up in LBs and ounces - faces of amused disbelief! :)

Add to the fun and get them to work out the cost of the jam in L.s.d!

Genius Dorfmouse! Trouble is, today's pupil is doing A level Maths, Further Maths, Physics and heaven knows what else - she'd have to check her own work!

Pupil excelled at calculations and toddled off home with 8 LBs of jam. :)

Went to a piano meetup. I played terribly but it was great to be amongst other pianists again.

That sounds lovely. I wish we could have a forum meetup one day.

The 'Lets Play Piano' meetups are good fun. There are quite a few operating in the North. I don't know if there are others in other parts of the country. I go to the Liverpool based one.  Once a month get together.  Up to 40 attend but only about 15-20 perform, others go just to listen. For me,a 74 year old enthusiastic amateur of fairly decent standard, it gives me something to focus on each month and practise one piece to a high standard.  Last month Brahms Intermezzo Op118 No 2, next month Bach WTC Book 2 No 14.

Yes, that would be a good motivator, I can see that.

Feeling relieved that I had my third covid jab this afternoon and am none the worse for wear except for a very slightly sore arm. Also yesterday I went to the chemist with a prescription for a patient lift. He  said he would get the suppliers to ring me today but I didn't get a call. Then the  technician actually turned up with it this afternoon. I am very happy to think this should be the end of the back breaking job of lifting my partner. Naturally I understood all the directions when he explained and have now forgotten them all and can't make head or tail of the diagrams on the hammock. However there are demonstrations on  Youtube so I expect I'll get the hang of it.
