Just got text messages from my three pupils who took theory exams today. All sounded very positive and this time I'll be even more interested in their results than usual - an adult beginner who has become really interested in theory and took Grade 3 today, another adult who got 100 for Grade 3 in November and took Grade 4 today (can't help feeling he'll be a bit disappointed, even if his mark is in the 90s!) and an 11 year old taking Grade 5. She was my first pupil when I moved here 5 years ago and it's been such a joy to watch her grow and develop into an outstanding little musician. She's going to Chetham's in September and wanted to do Grade 5 theory before she starts there. It's going to be a long 4 weeks!
