Hi, was just wondering if anyone could suggest a piece for a young mezzo to sing for an audition to start Diploma. 

We have all looked but not sure what the standard would look like. 

Obviously, grade 8 is done so something a little more challenging or will stand out as a good piece.

How about 'In Haven' from Elgars 'Sea Pictures',  or  there's another great Elgar song 'The Shepherds Song' (good accompanist needed for that one, Ive done it).  Haven't checked but they may be in Dip A syllabus.

What sort of Diploma is she doing that needs an audition to start preparation? 

No suggestions from the teacher?
