I put a couple of things into an auction for my mother in law and when I took them to the auction house there were two grandfather clocks also in the sale, both really lovely ones. Having started to refer to our grandfather clock as our 'first' grandfather clock we were in the market for one, and although we couldn't get to the auction (visiting our gorgeous new grand daughter) I found you could follow the while thing on the internet and make live bids and everything. So I did. And got the nicer of the two!

And it is nearly Christmas! Christmas always makes me happy!

Candidate's exam done this morning. She's worked her socks off recently, especially after the two-week hiatus caused by the AB when they said they weren't coming because we didn't submit enough entries collectively, and then backtracked and changed their minds. She and I are both very glad it's over.

A lovely bunch of flowers from my Trinity student. I went with them to play the duet and didn't charge.

Had the stitches removed from my hand yesterday. Today, life is much easier - looking forward to getting back into piano practice.

That is good. Today it is Thanksgiving around here. So we had a small Thanksgiving lunch with traditional food.

Friday evening - church choir gave a concert entitled "Christmas of Yesteryear" which was very well received. My solo of "O Holy Night" had some audience and choir members in tears! 

 

And this afternoon, I'll be singing in our 4 member group inside the kiln at the Bottle Kiln, West Hallam. It's a superb sounding box.

I love all the Christmas concerts and carol services at this time. There is something very special about them. We've got our Advent Carol service today and it is a great start to the season.
