Has anyone's child attended a Pro Corda Preparatory or Primary strings chamber course as a pianist?  Would you recommend it?  Any other comments?  Thank you in advance.

 

[I would be interested to know, amongst other things:

1. Did they feel in any way left out socially, as a pianist surrounded by string players?

2. Did they receive any piano-specific coaching (which I understand happens on the piano-only course) and/or any alternative activity to the string orchestra?]

No ,but I attended five weekend Adult Piano Courses (annually in October) a few years back, and they were thoroughly enjoyable with excellent tutors.

I think I did 2014-2018 inclusive (the October ones). First two we had as tutor Vovka Ashenazy (son of Vladimir), later Helen Reid and Warren Mailley-Smith.  Had major heart surgery in Aug 2019, then we soon got into Covid, so doubt I will get back now. My wife was from the area and we still had in-laws locally when I started.

Indeed he is.    He used to accompany at my JD and I know several of the Pro Corda staff.
