In spite of all the doom and gloom over music in schools etc there are sometimes beacons to light the way! I'd urge anyone with a spare hour or two to pop along to their nearest Music For Youth Regional Festival and support the valuable work done in showcasing a wide range of musical and performance talent. Entrance is normally free or a nominal charge - in return you'll be able to see the potential stars of the future and a wide range of musical styles and genres. Not only that, it's great for the performers to have an audience other than the usual parent/bankroll/taxi drivers.......
I'm also sure that the many music teachers, class teachers,coaches, directors, mentors et al would appreciate the support too.
Looking at the weather forecast this looks like a good weekend to be indoors anyway.......
