Thank you. Normal-ish day for me. Have decided as it's the last year of my 20's that I'm going to try and improve myself this year (lose weight, hopefully pass my driving test, start on some of my goals.)

the big thing I'm really happy about is the fact that I will be seeing 2 musicals in September on the night they both reopen courtesy of my friend who bought the tickets for her and I.

Very definitely do things when you can. I'm glad I did my 'big' holidays (trekking in Nepal etc) in my 30s, rather than waiting until I was retired etc.

Rach - It's good that you had a nice day! 30s are good too so something to look forward to next year! As well as things to look forward to this year. Totally agree with Tenor Viol that it's a good idea to do things when you think of them rather than waiting for some mystical time in the future when things can change! Best wishes for all of your endeavours! It's nice to hear what is making people happy!

Our wind band finally got to play a couple of concerts at the weekend, jolly Biergarten stuff, nearky 2 hours worth. Lovely to see people smiling, getting up for a polka and yelling for encores! After only one rehearsal we didn't do too bad!

One swing band I play with is back to regular rehearsals - gigs in July (which I can't do) and one in August. The other one is just finalizing a new rehearsal venue which will be much closer than the last one, so hopefully that will be restarting soon. Just need some singing to start up again!

It's so nice to see the new ones taking their first steps in the world.

We had our resident blackbird take her chicks away on Monday. She'd nested in The Barn so had put back some of the work out there! They went with our best wishes so we have our fingers crossed for them.

Today, there are two tiny lithops germinated. I used to have a wonderful collection of cactus Before Collie and before the move. But I've decided to stick to less prickly things. So the lithops are part of that new venture.

Watching the final of the Sewing Bee with daughter who started sewing during lockdown! Sad that the SB has finished, but happy that daughter has found a new hobby which is so satisfying and that I can help her with - as opposed to more obscure things that she likes, like Anglo-Saxons and their hordes!

Maybe she could make an Anglo Saxon costume? I enjoyed the Sewing Bee too (even though I can't sew) - apart from Joe Lycett messing about.

Yes - Joe Lycett is not a good addition, Claudia was much better as a presenter, but I try to look past Joe and just enjoy the bits that I enjoy!

The Sewing Bee is my favourite programme of the whole year - I love it. I think it could have gone to any of the three finalists last night, but glad that Serena won.

Good to hear your daughter has found an enjoyable and fulfilling hobby. Long may she sew!

I think Sue Perkins would be good as a presenter - she doesn't seem to be on the TV much at the moment. I'm glad that Serena won too. I think long term though, that Serena will end up as a surgeon and Raf will be the fashion designer.
