Women's final looks to be evenly matched and should be entertaining.

Are we on course to win anything in the wheelchair side of the tournament?

There is British representation in the men's and women's doubles.

Both J Murray and Watson got through to the mixed doubles final.

Both of the men's doubles semi-finals went the distance. One match went to 9-7 in the final set and the other 17-15!

Oh yeah, and Federer's reached another final. Can Cilic stop him?

Muguruza has won the women's title.

What a final it was in the men's doubles, which finished 13-11 in the final set.

In stark contrast, Vesnina and Makarova won the women's doubles title 6-0 6-0 :xmasWreath: :xmasWreath:  <-- closest smiley I could find to resemble a bagel

Looks more like a couple of lifebelts on this device.
Do bagels have some significance in this context, or are they the new go-to thing instead of champers?

A bagel is a term they use when a set finishes 6-0, as a bagel is the same shape as the number zero.

The Ladies' Final  also produced a bagel in the second set. Possibly rather unsportingly, I can't help wishing that Venus had played like this in her semi, and given Jo Konta a place in the final. Well, at least we are guaranteed a Brit win in the mixed. And then that's it for another year.

Federer has won the title! Who saw that coming? :P

And Jamie Murray has won the mixed doubles title with Martina Hingis, 10 years on from his first win.

Well a lot of tennis has flowed under the bridge of time since the first post.  Personally, here in 2017 I loved watching Federer play, still quicksilver and a canny mind reader.  I didn't watch the Ladies final.  Pleased that Spain has a comely young winner, but watching either of the Williams sisters isn't my thing.  As for Murray, he's an OK player, but look in the audience and you might think he has borrowed the mummified mother prop from Psycho for the day !

A little bit belated, but time to revive this thread as the best tennis tournament gets underway again.

Unfortunately, no Andy Murray. But a few Brits have won their first round match - Edmund, Konta, Swan and Boulter.

Edmund is the only Brit left now after the second round.

A few shocks today - Cilic (last year's runner-up) lost to Pella despite being 2 sets up and in firm control yesterday before the rain halted their match. And the defending women's champion Muguruza is out as well! :o

Already, six of the top eight women's seeds are out!

And now the top seed Halep is out! ohmy.png

Djokovic has put an end to British hopes, beating Edmund.

I'm sure none of us thought that after Kevin Anderson saved a match point against Federer that this match would STILL be going 2 hours later!

9-9 in the final set...

Anderson has broken serve at 12-11, and will now serve for the match...:o
