I'm looking to buy a new violin case as I will soon be upgrading to a more expensive violin and my previous case is wearing out.

I am looking for something that can last around or at least 10 years, if such a thing exists?

I'm looking for something with durability and that offers good protection.

The more lightweight the better, but this isn't too much of an issue.

The maximum I'd be looking to spend would be around £1,000 but obviously if I can find something suitable for a lot less than this I'd be happy to go for that.

Also with some form of storage in the case for rest, strings, rosin, music etc.

I've wanted a carbon fibre case for a long time so I am considering this, but I'd love to hear any opinions or experiences anyone has of any brands  :)

Its a few years since we bought a mid range Gewa case, about £300 and it has proved quite durable.  Plenty of different types (ie shaped, oblong etc) available in their range .  https://gb.gewamusic...nt=24&mode=grid

It's a bit confusing having two threads!

I want to delete the other thread but I'm not sure how?

Try contacting the moderator, EdGJ and ask him to merge the two threads.

For the sort of money you're talking about you could have a beautiful handmade case from Desmond Timms that will last a lifetime. He has made cases for some of the world's finest players, and is a lovely chap too.

Negri, but they are not light.  For light I guess you need carbon fibre.  But I think Negris are much prettier.

I totally agree with this. In fact I just bought a Negri a couple of weeks ago, just waiting for delivery.
