I have a 14 year old violin pupil who is Grade1- 2, who's looking for a summer course to play in. I can find lots for younger children at her level, or for more advanced teenagers, but does anyone know of a suitable course for a teenage beginner? She's Grade 6 piano so musically literate, but only taken up the violin recently.

Is there anything at benslowmusic.org  or   www.procorda.com ?

Thanks, I'll enquire. It's difficult to tell the mix of ages from the websites.

Most of Procorda courses are for children though I have done their October Adult Piano Courses the last two years . Ring them and have a word with Andrew Quartermain.  Very friendly atmosphere when I have been.   Benslow a bit more regimented.

I'm not sure which area you're in, AMG, but here's the one I'd recommend if you were local to me (probably other local authorities offer something similar?):

Jackdaws Music Education Trust in Somerset is running a week-long Summer Production, 25-29 July, for young people between the ages of 10 to 17.

Thanks all, I've enjoyed looking through all of these: there are one or two possibilities although my pupil's particular combination of age and stage is not well covered, probably because there aren't enough teenage beginners to make it worthwhile. Perhaps the answer is to look into running one myself!
