Please can someone tell me why I know this piece!! Silly question, I know. I came across it in a Grade 6 anthology and it feels so familiar. But I've never played it before, neither has my mum. So I don't know why I know it! Was it used in a theme tune, or an advert, or has someone made a song out of it? I just don't know why I know it so well!)

Here's one of the many Youtube versions (given the huge number of Youtube vids of this piece, it clearly is very well known).

Thank you both! I've not seen any of those films, so probably not that .... maybe I too had a toy that played it!  :)

I think a lot of music boxes play it. It is so often used for a lullaby, for example in cartoons.

I think I might have played a simplified version when quite young, in G Major.

Definitely a popular piece in books of easy arrangements of well known pieces.
