Well I saw Orient were 2-1 up with 4 minutes to go - next time I looked, Port Vale had won 3-2! :o How frustrating! Port Vale climb up to 3rd, while we slip to 4th.

Another win for Reading - Junior Hoilett scoring against former club Cardiff to move within 2 points of the play-offs.

Also in League Two, there was the Matt Taylor derby betwen Exeter and Walsall, which finished 2-2.

A late winner for Tranmere after Crawley had equalised. Ninth in the table but only one point behind CE's Orient in 4th.  We have the best defence record in the League, having only conceded 4 goals in 10 matches, but we did lose three of them !  :(

Guess which Premier League club have been the first to sack their manager? Yes, you've guessed it, it's Watford! Poor Xisco Munoz... he's won 2 out of the first 7 games, yet that's still not good enough for them...

https://www.bbc.co.u...otball/58778752

Early rumours tell us that Claudio Ranieri could be the next victim... I mean... candidate for the manager's job...

A comfortable 4-0 win for Orient at Crawley in the Pizza trophy. I see Charlton did better than us in the last round of fixtures, winning 6-1 against Crawley. Tonight they won 4-1 against Southampton U21s, so with 2 wins each, both of us will be going through to the next round after 2 games played.

Looks like Tranmere will similarly go through with Oldham.

Tranmere will go through barring a collapse. Oldham aren't yet confirmed to go through, as Leeds U21s also have 3 points, and Salford could still go through with a win in the final group game.

In the first group game involving Oldham, the referee for that game was called James Oldham!

Tranmere won 2 - 0 last night against Colchester last night so were 5th in the league now a point above Orient !  But played a match extra.  Still only conceded 4 goals in 11 matches. Orient are second best defensive record in League 2 , having conceded 8 goals.

Tranmere at lowly Carlisle next week.

Orient have been overtaken by Tranmere...

Poor Vale Of Leithen in the Scottish Lowland League have lost their last two games 13-0 and 11-0. Their goal difference after 15 games is a whopping -91!

Bad start for Ranieri - a 5-0 defeat to Liverpool. Maybe they should start looking for another new manager...

Nice away win for Tranmere  at Carlisle puts us in 4th position.  Tougher match at Harrogate on Tuesday though they lost today.  Harrogate would be my second team to follow in this league as we lived there when we first married  (1971-1977). Tranmere still only concede 4 goals in 12 matches, but not scoring enough !!

Forest Green      26pts  (all played 12 matches)

Harrogate T        22 pts

Port Vale            21 pts

Tranmere R       21 pts

Another draw for Orient sees us slip to 7th. We'd be happy with a draw on Tuesday as we are due to face the league leaders.

Reading are now also 7th, and just a point off the play-offs after another win!

Looking at potential opponents in the FA Cup (as the first round draw is tomorrow), there's no Maldon & Tiptree, but there is another Essex team called Bowers & Pitsea, plus Dagenham & Redbridge of course. There is a Stratford team who are still in the draw, but not that Stratford...

Took a while for the forum supported teams to come out, but Orient have got a home tie at least. We avoided those Essex teams I mentioned, but we drew Ebbsfleet instead who are almost in Essex. We nearly did draw Tranmere, but instead they will travel to Crawley, while Charlton will host either Torquay or Havant & Waterlooville.
