Annoying things (lighthearted)

Anybody else get annoyed by “incorrect” attitudes to music / instruments in the wider world that nobody else seems bothered by?

On Strictly. "Dave Arch and his orchestra". That looks like a band to me!

I saw a poster advertising a music school which used a picture of a chap playing a French horn. It was flipped so the horn was facing the wrong way. It was the fact it was a music school ad that bugged me, they really ought to have known better!
People who still refer to the horn as a "French" horn (sorry, corenfa). Almost all hornists have used German horns since the 1950s, and the instruments are now (even by the ABRSM) properly referred to as simply horns. The rotary valves of the German horn have been considered far superior to the piston valves of the French horn ever since the days of Dennis Brain. The International Horn Society declared back in 1971 that horn be recognized as the formal name for the instrument in the English language.

Nothing against other people wanting to play those, I just don't.

Pupils who correct me when I make a mistake. Don't they know I am god in my lessons...

There's a photo doing the rounds - I think it's in an article talking about how learning music is "good for you" - but the "teacher" is physically pressing down on the "pupil's" finger in a most unprofessional and totally incorrect way! It's so bad that I feel like writing to someone appropriate to complain!!

Every time Karen Hardy described 'rhythm' on Strictly's 'it takes two' - I can't remember what she said, but it wasn't rhythm and always left me yelling "no it's not!" at the TV!
