I have the books for John Thompson's easiest piano course, and I want to know what book is prep test standard and which is grade1?
Is the end of book 2 around prep test standard and the end of book four grade 1?!

Thanx

Hi Nat,
I would say that the start of book 2 is more prep test standard and the end of book 2 and the begining of book 3 is grade 1 standard. (I'm only guessing by the way has i started using other books once I had completed book 2 before starting on my grade 1 exam pieces). I'm also judging by the fact that you start having to playing pieces in book 3 that require you to be able to change from bass to treble clef and back again at the same time has playing chords in alternating hands and towards the end of the book you have peices that use key signtures not need till grade 2. book 4 also introduces the use of pedalling which normally isn't introdued till grade 3 standard.
hope this helps
