Now that England are top of their group, I'm starting to get into this!

Jolly good Vicky Violin! France are also top of their group. Pressure of work has prevented me watching acouple of matches I would like to have seen but I'm still following with considerable interest.

Yes - worth watching at this stage.  (I'm a bit like this with Wimbledon - only get into it during the second week!)

Pity about Scotland, but the rules were followed correctly, they should have been able to defend their well earned 3-0 lead.

The draw for the first round of the League Cup will happen later on today - at a Morrisons supermarket...wacko.png Will Reading and Orient get drawn against each other I wonder? We haven't played each other since 2000, which was in the same competition...

Nope, they didn't. Reading will travel to Wycombe, while Orient get possibly the worst draw they could've got with a trip to fellow League Two side Plymouth.

Other ties: Tranmere v Hull, Charlton v Forest Green, Boro v Crewe, Scunthorpe v Derby, Salford v Leeds, AFC Wimbledon v MK Dons

France meet Brazil in the "huitième de finale."  I don't know how you say that in English.

The round of 8 teams is the quarter final, the round of 4 teams is the semi - final

Ah I see. Thanks  F# minor. It's a bit like the difference between the English saying semi-quavers and the French calling them "double croches"!

France won against Brazil 2 - 1. I watched the match - quite a bit of tension. I couldn't really afford the time but I treated myself anyway and enjoyed it.

The behaviour of the Cameroon girls playing against England was atrocious, at least three should have been sent off !  At least we won 3 - 0

Thank goodness Leyton Orient have avoided having to play in the Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup next season...

Instead in this Scottish cup competition, Wrexham - based in Wales - are representing England, while The New Saints - based in Shropshire, England - are representing Wales...

England are 3-0 up right now against Norway - what a goal from Lucy Bronze by the way!

Well, France lost to America 2-1. The first half of the match was dominated by the American girls who scored just after 5 minutes play and therefore had the psychological upper hand very early on. The French girls didn't play very well in the first half; However they were much better in the second half but didn't manage to equalize.  Sad that we are out but I never really thought we could beat the Americans.

England now meet the Americans in the semi- finals.

Sweden were good value in defeating Germany, whose defence was very leaky !     Holland beat Italy earlier
