The Sunday Times Sport section today has an article devoted to Tranmeres ace striker (and all leagues highest goal scorer this season) James Norwood. They will have a job keeping him. Hopefully Tranmere will beat Newport next week and get a second successive promotion.

How Reading could do with a striker like him...

No FA Trophy for Orient, as Fylde defeated us. But we'll be in League Two next season - that's the most important thing.

Yay , we did it ! laugh.png  Two consecutive promotions for Tranmere. Well done Micky Mellon and the team.  Might be a struggle in League 1 though, and can they retain James Norwood  (30 goals this season)

?

Great result, although it seemed to be hard work according to the commentary.

Interesting match tomorrow, and then fingers crossed for the big one on Monday!

Agreed fsharpminor. Lived on the wirral for many years and the rest of family were all season ticket holders. We all still have a soft spot for them and wish them well. Remember the days when they were in play offs so many years running and queueing at prenton park for tickets.

The French women's international team have just beaten Thailand 3 - 0. The stadium was packed! The French team were technically way above the Thai girls but should have done better on goals - they missed two penalties and several opportunities. However more French goals might have been disastrous for the Thai morale. I think we play China next and I imagine that will be a lot harder.

And the Madejski! biggrin.png

It's going well so far for the forum teams in the play-offs! Congratulations to them, and to Tranmere as well. They will be in the same division as Sunderland next season, which is remarkable given they were 5 divisions apart only two years ago! Interestingly, Tranmere have a better record over them, winning 9 times to Sunderland's 5.

Looking back through this thread, I found this post from the start of the season:

Oh Car Expert, you think Charlton will be promoted laugh.png
Absolutely no chance!

Isn't it nice I proved you wrong, Barry! ;)

The last 15 minutes yesterday were tense to say the least.......

I must admit I approach next season with some trepidation after the last few seasons we had in the prem

I see I didn’t do predictions for the season just gone, and I know it’s early, but while I remember - here’s my 2019/20 season in a nutshell!

Prem : 1. Man City; 2. Tottenham; 3. Liverpool; 4. Chelsea; 5. Arsenal; 6. Newcastle; 7. Man Utd; 8. Leicester; 9. Wolves; 10. Everton; 11. Norwich; 12. Watford; 13. West Ham; 14. Aston Villa; 15. Bournemouth; 16. Burnley; 17. Sheffield United; 18. Crystal Palace; 19. Southampton; 20. Brighton

Champ: Up - Leeds; Derby; Bristol City
Down - Huddersfield; Millwall; Wigan
Charlton : 14th

Lge 1: Up - Sunderland; Portsmouth; Peterborough
Down - Rochdale; MK Dons; Southend; Accrington Stanley

Lge 2 : Up - Newport; Mansfield; Carlisle; Leyton Orient
Down : Morecambe; Macclesfield

NL : Up - Ebbsfleet; Notts County
Down - Chorley; Maidenhead; Dagenham & Redbridge; plus Barrow (if Gateshead expelled), if Gateshead reprieved, Gateshead to go down.

You're very kind, thank you! biggrin.png Hopefully we can emulate Tranmere...fingersCrossed.gif

It's funny how every season I always predict Morecambe to go down, and they never do. Maybe this time I won't...

My predictions last season weren't very accurate - however, I did get the top two in the PL correct, and also Brighton finishing 17th and Huddersfield ending up bottom. I did predict Villa to go up and Rotherham to go down in the Championship. Got Charlton right of course, MK Dons were promoted, and Braintree did get relegated from the National League... that was it. Unfortunately, my predictions of Doncaster, Forest Green and Solihull going down and Notts County going up were way off the mark...laugh.png
