There once was a flautist called Bute

who bought an expensive loud suit.

Once it was clean

though it later turned green

Now he toots on his flute and looks cute.

The game was supposed to be about writing a Limerick about the person who posted above you, though a couple of people haven't realised this.  It can be difficult if you haven't managed to glean much about the previous poster , though you can look at the persons profile !  Would you like to try and do one about Paola, then next person does one about you !  :)

Never mind fsharp minor, I'm a beginner

As a Maestro, you're a winner.

So onward we go

To write more rhymes that flow -

Gotta go - it's time for dinner!

Paulo, fied and fsharpminor

Make up verses that couldn't be finer

A Shakespearian ode

Might be à la mode

But I'd rather read a five-liner.

We know that Paola's well fed,

On lunch, tea and dinner she said.

She satisfied her hunger,

But now we must wonder -

Did she go without supper to bed?

If music be the food of love, play on

Then Polkadot's Shakespearian mission is done.

Her wit in a five liner

Is oh, so finer,

And regarded as second to none!

Jack Phillips  where Paola shows  face

Is Godalmings favourite place,

But Oysters, Champagne

Give her tummy pain,

So 'To bed' the doctor he says.

F sharp minor is in the wrong key;

"Nothing better than F sharp!" says he.

But he doesn't know

How other keys go,

And certainly not G, C and D.

"Of course, I could learn them" said he,

"But of what use to me would they be?"

"I'm fond of F sharp

On cello or harp,

'Tis not the wrong key for me!"

Our Virtuoso lady is nifty

To write a ditty so witty.

Two verses in various keys

Question how does she do it? we plea

And then leave F sharp minor sitting pretty.

Bye friends, I'm off you see

On my hols to Italy.

Have fun while I'm away,

While I wine and dine all day!

And indulge my favourite chocs - Baci !

Thanks and see you at the beginning of March.

Are Paola's hols all done?

Has she had her fill of sun?

What with Baci and wine,

How is her waistline?

Is she slim, or weighing a tonne?

She's always talking of food -

(She's always in the mood!)

And now it's Easter,

She'll be a feaster -

For Easter eggs are cued!

This thread's gone quiet of late.

I wonder what Paola last ate?

As for all others,

Come limerick lovers,

It's time to end the long wait!

My hunger is satisfied,

I'm full to the brim.

To answer your question Misteriosio - I'm very slim.

With few Forumites writing

It's not very exciting,

Yes, polkadot - it certainly is grim.

I found Paola's hometown in Surrey
With Google that's not such a worry
The photos look quaint
Big city it ain't
And the people there don't seem to hurry

Those churches have choirs there's no doubt
So Paola won't have to miss out
Her garden so fine
Helps her work off that wine
and baci, and next year...the stout?

Older Aussie comes from lands far away

With beaches and sun so they say

Makes my home town seem bleak
Every day of the week

Gotta go- so I'll just say "G'day!"

G'day to you DaisyChain2
Too bad that your skies are not blue
You live there in Kent
Where I heard pilgrims went
And before that a Roman or two

I hear you're a fan of Ludwig
That guy with a talent so big
He deserves his fame
It's such a shame
That some people don't give a fig.
