My adult student (who can already play the violin) played a load of bass notes while I played various tunes on the recorder. Like "The Wheels on the Bus go Round and Round" and similar jolly little numbers.

Pupil: I've just come back from Newquay - it was really fun.
Me: Were there lots of hunky Swedish surfers on the beach?
Pupil. No.
Me: Oh that's a shame.
Pupil: Yeah but there was the whole of the England rugby team!

My neighbour is having a garage built and has put a bright red portaloo in his front garden. Overnight, someone has put a notice on the portaloo's door "I'd give it a minute if I were you!"

I was on holiday (road trip with family) in south holland, belgium and france last week.
We stuck to the north of france (dunkirk and bray dunes on friday before we came back to the uk via coquelles (eurotunnel)
did ypres on wednesday (and took in the menin gate and the 8:00 last post service)
Loved it so much that i want to to go back to the mainland (had to come back as I had two concerts i was playing in this weekend). Wouldn't want to live in europe though
