Hi viola players,

1/ Are any of you familiar with Herbert Kinsey's 'Elementary Progressive Studies' (Set II)? I was wondering roughly what standard these are, e.g. Grade 3 to Grade 5.

2/ Can anyone recommend any study books they like? Suitable for around Grade 4 to 5 standard.

I remember doing them but can't remember what standard they were! Below grade 5 though.

Quite a lot of the violin studies have been transcribed for viola. I'll try and check a few out and post again on this forum, or send you a PM.

Studies by Kayser and Wolfhart maybe amongst them (two separate books). Both sets are of Grade 4 to 5 standard.
