Hi. I am looking for theory books specifically aimed at very young children (4-7 years old). I have Katie Elliot's Theory Fun Factory but I feel even this one is too high for the very youngest children. Has anyone come across any that would work?
Thanks!

Hi amycatherine

There's a thread called "Theory of Music Books" where there are some recommendations for young children - if you have a look through the thread, you'll find various comments about some suitable books.

The Poco Studio series 'Music Theory for Young Children' and for 'Young Musicians' are highly recommended. Pedagogically sound and great fun with great pictures and sticker answers as well as learning to draw notes, clefs etc. They are designed to support the AB theory syllabus. They are very popular in Singapore but they are available now from a London music shop. Please PM me if you want the name of the store as I am not sure I'm supposed to 'advertise' on here smile.gif
