Does anyone have any experience with Recorder Workshop recorders?

Chamberlainmusic.com have a four piece plastic R.W. consort for £179 when the RW bass alone, which I think is the same as the one in the consort, is £151.

I'm just starting out with the recorder and really want to get a full consort ASAP. Being on quite a tight budget I'm wondering if this deal would be a good idea.

Any advice appreciated,
Max

Daughter's plastic Bass was nowhere near £151. Might be worth speaking ot Elida Trading Liz is a Forum member.

Welcome to the forum Max.
I don't know these recorders but perhaps it would be better to build up a collection gradually. I would start with a C instrument, perhaps the tenor if you can mamage the spacing between the finger holes and an alto. Then you can add to the collection bit by bit. Yamaha 300 series recorders are good and I would go for a couple of those to start with. The Yamaha bass copies are perfectly good at a lot less than the RW one that you mention. There are several on ebay usually. Talk to Liz as Notmusimum suggests.

What's the rush to get a full set? Unless you have others to play with, there doesn't seem much point in having a bass and you'd probably do much better to spend the money on relatively decent treble, or get a couple of plastic ones like petrat says and spend the rest on music or save up for a really good recorder later.
