This is similar to a previous posting I made.
Christmas is coming up fast and I'm hoping to get a bass recorder, it will be plastic and will be a clone.
Has anyone any evidence of a difference in quality between the many clones, Woodnote, Thomann, Krugerstein, and there are others. I know they probably come fom the same factory, and it is suggested they come from the same mould; but I can't believe that one mould can meet the demand of a world market, even for a bass recorder. If they are all produced from the same set of moulds but in different production runs is there a selection process in which the purchaser(wholesaler), if they are big enough and influencial enough, has some control. In other words a big company may have the opportunity of getting a better quality batch.

Speak to Liz at Elida Trading who is an authority on these. A google search should give you the number or send her a PM via the Forum.

If you do find out, would you possibly be able to post a summary here, please? I was wondering the same thing a few weeks ago having seen that the Thomann bass looked to be within my price range.
