Yes ... Aaaarrrrrgggghhhh..... 28 November. I'm doing the following pieces:-

Allegretto
A Passing Thought
Round Dance

What pieces are you doing? I don't feel so well prepared for grade 3 as I was when I did grade 2. I find aural quite difficult but think I've mastered it now (with lots of practice). I went to my piano lesson last night and played my pieces and did some aural ... it seemed ok. I don't seem to have done much sight reading practice though ... I suppose that's what I need to practice tonight!!!!

My exams at 4:27 pm, I not sure whether to take the day off work, the afternoon off or just stay at work until it's time to leave for my exam .... What do you think? My grade 2 was a lunch time appointment and I just "nipped out" of work for that and got a distinction.

I would leave at lunchtime. You don't want to be sat at home all day thinkng about it, but by the afternoon you'll be clock watching and not being very productive at work. Also, you don't want to be in a rush. Good luck!

Its good to see I'm not the only adult doing Grade 3.

I'm doing
Aria by Telemann
The clock on the wall
and Round dance.

I bet the examiners will be getting sick of Round Dance
The Old Lady
Good Luck all of you.

Good luck. I had a couple of pupils doing this selection of pieces and they got some really good marks for them - a good combination I think.

When to leave work depends on you - but I would give myself time at least to think about the pieces and prepare mentally for the exam. If you have too much time on your hands though will you start to get too nervous?

Good luck too - I'm sure the examiners will be glad to see the back of Round Dance, but then the board should have given us better choices!

I played "Round Dance" for my grade 3 over 30 years ago!

My son also did Round Dance. I loved it and still do - it's the only one of his G3 pieces I can remember without being prompted. I'm sure a fair share of people do the others - my nephew was set to do Ice Cream Van but has delayed the exam until next year (if his teacher can get him to play anything except Top Cat), and I would think a number also have done Bonny Bobby Bluetoe as it's 'the jazzy one'!
