Hello everyone

As some of you may know, I took part in a Musical Theatre masterclass last weekend, which was absolutely fascinating biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

One of the other participants sang a song that made me go "WOW! I want to sing that!" but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to talk to her afterwards to get details of the music.

Anyway, a bit of Googling came up with the answer that the song was "The Last Midnight" from Sondheim's "Into The Woods". So far so average, I know what I'm looking for.....

Now comes the problem. There is a book of vocal selections from "Into The Woods" but "The Last Midnight" isn't in it mad.gif

It is, of course, in the vocal score. But as that costs £70 ohmy.gif it's not really an option just so I can get hold of a song that lasts around 3 and a half minutes sad.gif

I haven't been able to find an anthology that includes it, or a library within c.100 mile radius of here that has a copy of the vocal score that I could borrow.....

So am I stumped.....or does someone here have another idea to try......?

It looks like there is a copy of the vocal score in the Westminster Central Music Library.
(search is here: http://elibrary.westminster.gov.uk/uhtbin/...er_id=WEBSERVER, but I can't get a direct link to it for some reason)

I had a good search but drew a complete blank apart from the vocal score already mentioned. Library might be your best bet.

I think they may have it in the Performing Arts Library in Dorking too, though that could be just the libretto

Dorking only have the vocal selections.

Thanks for the Westminster link - I missed that when I looked earlier. I shall try them asap!

They do indeed, and I've used them several times before. But the piece I want isn't one they are offering.

Not on there either. I really think this is one that must just be in the Vocal Score.
