Hi all!

I'm in desperate search for this piece which is in the ABRSM syllabus Grade 7. Have been looking everywhere but i cant find it. Can someone please pin point me to a site which i can buy online?

THANKSSSSS!

Cheers.
Violin Hero
If it is on the ABRSM syllabus it will be in the grade 7 book.

Most music stores have the grade books readily available.

If you have to buy online go to www.musicroom.com

Dear Violin Hero,

I may be wrong, but as far as i understand, there is no graded book for the viola, unlike the violin/piano. All i have found so far are the recordings of the pieces on CDs. sad.gif

This site has a link to musicroom and sheetmusicplus .. and also an mp3:

http://royalschoolsources.com/Strings/viola/grade7.html

(and helpfully, it is the arrangement specified in the syllabus).

I've only seen the one on musicroom which says delivery within 14 working days or something. The last time I ordered something from there which was within 14 working days it never arrived wacko.gif sad.gif

You can buy direct from the publisher, www.editionpeters.com - search the site for Peters EP7725. They estimate a 3 week delivery time for overseas orders.

It's also on www.goodmusicpublishing.co.uk and www.sheetmusichound.com. The published title is "Two Hungarian Dances" rather than Hungarian Dance No 1.

If all else fails, you could try contacting the ABRSM and ask them if they can tell you where to get it from.

Good luck with Grade 7 !

Not all grade 7 pieces appear in the book - there are the alternative pieces too. Furthermore, there is no G7 book for viola, just a syllabus.

There aren't any books for viola! We've only just got the CDs! Our syllabus is nice in the lower levels in that it's been done so that you only need to buy one (rarely more) book of pieces to take the exam, but there's no 'Selected Pieces' book. Doubt there ever will be either!

The syllabus has all the details of the manuscript though, so any decent music sales place should be able to order it for you if it's not on their shelves, (and who stocks loads of viola music anyway? sad.gif )

One to miss, huh? I always get my stuff from Scheerers in town. The staff in there are great and although it's full price, they have a good stock and will order anything else you need. smile.gif

Sometimes these discount places aren't worth it (esp. when you add in P&P), and there don't seem to be great discounts around anyway. Wonder when Amazon music will start doing a budget secrtion?? tongue.gif

I use musicroom quite a lot actually, it's fine for stuff that's actually in stock biggrin.gif And if you buy lots there's no P+P anyway biggrin.gif

Oooohh!!

Thank you everyone!!! Been so helpful. Now i know where to hunt for them. Hehe.

Yeah, sadly theres no graded books for us violist. We always have to spend a little more getting all 3 pieces in 3 different books. Hehe. Where i live(Perth, WA), its sooooo hard finding shops which stock viola music, repairs or teachers.

Anyway, thanks again!! Wheeee!
