I'm thinking of upgrading. I currently have Sibelius 4 with Kontakt Player Silver. What I don't like are the vocal sounds - they're really slow and fake-sounding, almost like mooing. I was wondering if anyone who owns the Gold version could tell me what they think, especially of the vocal line playback - is it fake-sounding?

Yes I do, and can assure you that the vocal sounds are no improvement at all.

Thanks for your really quick response! Do you think upgrading to Sibelius 5 would make any difference? I notice that 'Sibelius Sounds Essential' is included - maybe this will be better?

To be honest, I think the likelihood of anyone every being able to produce a vocal sound which is even vaguely authentic is very slim.

What I find is that it seems to move very slow. The sounds that the Kontakt Player create are more real, but they don't seem to move with the rest of the music.

Ah, for vocal sounds have a look at Eastwest's Quantum Symphonic Choirs. Kontakt etc are fairly rubbish in this department.

I've just been looking at this - it looks amazing! Has anyone used it? I looks very complicated, but no doubt one would get used to it.

I've not used it myself but i've seen the demos and some videos of it on youtube . I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to get used to!

It's been on the shopping list for a while but other things seem to keep getting in the way!
