I'm not sure whether this strictly counts as theory, but i wasn't sure where to put it...

In Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 there's the direction 'Tutta forza e pritezza'. Does anyone have any ideas what pritezza means? I've tried looking it up in several places, but its nowhere to be found (google only came up with it twice blink.gif )

Thanks,
Sarah

sorry - it's not in my music dictionary: neither is it in my little Italian dictionary. Not come across it before.

Seems like there's a spelling mistake - the score I found reads 'tutta forza e prestezza'.
Looked it up on www.dolmetsch.com and 'prestezza' means 'quickness'.

No, I was just dabbling and saw the word and didn't know what it meant.

I need a challenge for next summer though...we'll see.

In the mean time, I have two cadenzas to learn wink.gif
