i'm having my first violin lesson yesterday and i was taught to play on all the open strings.but i was curious.how do they make the other tone such as F,B,Cetc. i only know a bit.that's to press the strings one different length.but how can it sound exactly the note u wanna play????

When you 'stop' the string with your finger to create another different note, have to listen to very carefully. In time your ears will (or should) develop enough sensitivity to the intonation and your hand will also develop a sort of memory for the where notes are on the fingerboard, but it takes a LOT of practice and many years, not just a few lessons.
Best advice I can give, BE PATIENT

be extremly patient. All violinists play out of tune when they first do this.

Roughly about one inch away on the D string, and you will get E, another inch, another tone F#. Or 1 1/2 inch away, you get F natural. Generally you move your fingers an inch for a tone and 1/2 inch for semitones. Well, at least that's how I remember where to put my fingers,

It is roughly an inch for a tone etc, each individual violin differs slightly. The lines are for beginners, they are there to show you where to put your fingers on the finger board.

Patience Natalie! Patience! It'll come, it just takes time, and if you are not sure play with a piano and adjust your fingers when they are sharp or flat.

When I sorted out my posture I found it a bit uncomfortable, but not I'm fine, it feels natural. Just make sure that your feet are about a shoulders width apart, you aren't slouching, your back is straight, and your wrist holding the violin is collapsed. You do NOT want to collapse your wrist, and if you are make sure you break the habbit otherwise you will find playing very difficult when you get more advanced.
