whats the bit of the violin called where the base of the neck meets the back of the violin, specifically the semicircle bit?
I'm sorry if i havent made this very clear, but any help is much appreciated.

Some violin parts have fun names... I've always liked the frog biggrin.gif (although it's not a violin part as such, I suppose)

For info - for those who don't know - the 'frog' is part of the bow. It is the piece wood (usually ebony) that is often referred to by a bowmaker as 'the slider'. The bit with the bow hair attached to it that moves backwards and forwards as you tighten/loosen the bow hair.
