Just wondered if anyone could help me with this. I have a lesson on Monday so it's not a huge deal but it would be nice to present my teacher with something slightly better than what I have now! laugh.gif blush.gif

The bit I'm talking about is on the last page in my edition (Schott). There've been 3 quaver low Bs and then there's the really high bit with lots of open Es. What do you do? I guess string crossing is easier than climbing around?

Sorry for being dumb...I appreciate this isn't the easiest question to answer by typing!

Do you mean the weird semiquaver passage?
I think you're supposed to play open strings as marked (I've got the same edition): some of the Es aren't marked as open. It fits the pattern - every third note is an open. It's a bit like one of the Bach Partitas... it's a mathematical pattern.
That doesn't stop it being annoying biggrin.gif
Have fun with it - it's great to play smile.gif

ah yes...extremely unobservant of me! thanks. Are the opens there to let you have time to move around or are they just for effect and you stay more or less in the same place? blink.gif
Misterioso
My edition is the same. The open Es are just for effect.

Fantastic piece!! smile.gif

I never quite got my fingers around that piece... tempted to have another look at it now the pattern has been pointed out!! smile.gif
