Violin virtuoso Rebekka Hartmann is bringing her Stradivarius to St. Leonard's Church, Hythe, this Saturday (June 7th) at 7:30pm. She'll be accompanied by Caroline Bergius on harpsichord, for a concert that includes Bach, Corelli, Handel and Tartini. It's the last of their five Southern England concerts, all played in churches.
I mention this because the tour does not seem to be heavily promoted, which is a pity because it's a rare treat to see performers of this calibre play such intimate venues in some out of the way places.
I went to their concert at my local church in Ashburton, Devon, last night. It was simply sublime.
